    Footsteps Preschool is a community based, not for profit, early childhood centre with a Christian philosophy.

    • Our Fees & Sessions

      • We offer all day, morning or afternoon sessions
      • Opening hours between 8am and 3.45
      • 2 year olds $6.00 per hour, plus term fee $20.00
      • Free 20 ECE hours for all 3-5 year olds
      • 3-5 year olds $6.50 per hour (outside of 20 ECE hours) plus term fee and optional charge for additional services

       

    • Te Whariki forms the basis of our planning and assessments, together with biblical principles and teaching interwoven into our daily programme.
      We endeavour to provide a rich daily curriculum that will assist children to become competent and confident lifelong learners, developing to their fullest potential.

      At Footsteps Community Christian Preschool our aim is to nurture children to grow in the love of Christ, to help them become all that God would have them be; safe in the knowledge that they are loved by God; valued, respected and loved as the person they are and the gifts they have.
      We are committed to providing a warm, caring and supportive environment. We recognize the importance and the God given task of parents as first teachers. Our intention is to encourage partnership with parents/caregivers/whanau in the spiritual and educational formation of all children in our care.

      Building Capabilities For Living And Lifelong Learning

    • Our Transition to School Programme is for all 4 year olds, and focuses on the 5 Key Competencies.

      • Relating to others
      • Participating and contributing

      Our Transition To School programme, which is in line with the NZ Curriculum, identifies five key competencies for school readiness. The development of these competencies are also being met in many ways for all children throughout the day. However, the extension group is a special time for the 4 year old’s to further develop their skills in readiness for their transition to school. Lining up when your name is called to go into your own special classroom and experiencing a slightly more formal setting is all part of this journey. We receive very positive feedback from both parents and schools as to how well prepared the Footsteps children are when they start school.
